Convergen

Convergen LifeSciences was a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing gene-based therapies for cancer. The company's lead program, CNVN-01, utilized a lipid nanoparticle delivery system to transport the TUSC2 (FUS1) tumor suppressor gene into cancer cells. This technology was developed in collaboration with the MD Anderson Cancer Center to treat non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Convergen's platform was notable for being one of the first to demonstrate successful systemic delivery of a tumor suppressor gene in a clinical setting. The company's assets and intellectual property were eventually transitioned to Genprex, which continues the development of the TUSC2-based therapy under the name REQORSA.
