Cord Laboratories was a pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in Broomfield, Colorado, that specialized in the production of generic drugs. It functioned as the primary manufacturing subsidiary for Geneva Pharmaceuticals, which was acquired by Ciba-Geigy in 1979 and subsequently became part of Novartis. The company focused on high-volume production of small molecule therapeutics across a variety of therapeutic areas. Historically, Cord Laboratories was a key player in the growth of the generic drug industry in the United States during the late 20th century. Its facilities and operations were eventually absorbed into the Sandoz division of Novartis.
