Coregon

Coregon is a biotechnology company spun out of the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and incubated by BCM Technologies (BCMT). Co-founded by pioneers in the field of steroid receptor coactivators (SRCs), including Dr. Bert W. O'Malley and Dr. David Lonard, the company is dedicated to developing novel small-molecule therapeutics that target the SRC family of oncogenic coactivators (SRC-1, SRC-2, and SRC-3). Coregon's pipeline includes both small-molecule inhibitors (SMIs) like SI-2, which selectively degrade SRC-3 to block tumor growth, and small-molecule stimulators (SMSs) like MCB-613, which selectively kill cancer cells by overstimulating the SRC oncogenic program and inducing lethal cellular stress. These first-in-class drug candidates are being developed for the treatment of various hormone-dependent and treatment-resistant cancers, including breast, prostate, lung, and ovarian cancers.
