CorNova was a medical device company specializing in the development of innovative interventional cardiology products. The company's primary focus was the Valecor Coronary Stent System, a cobalt-chromium scaffold designed to treat coronary artery disease with improved flexibility and radial strength. Founded in 2002 by William J. Starling as part of the Synecor incubator, CorNova aimed to advance the performance of cardiovascular stents through superior engineering and materials. The Valecor system received the CE Mark in 2005, allowing for commercialization in European markets. Despite achieving clinical and regulatory milestones, the company eventually ceased operations and is no longer active.
