Courtagen

Courtagen was a private U.S. life sciences and molecular diagnostics company focused on genomic and proteomic products and clinical testing services. The company operated a CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited genetic testing laboratory and became known for pediatric neurology and metabolic disorder testing, including sequencing-based assays for epilepsy, mitochondrial disease, autism spectrum disorder, developmental delay, and related conditions. Courtagen also owned Medicinal Genomics, a subsidiary focused on cannabis genetics and testing, after acquiring that business in 2012. In 2017, Courtagen shut down its diagnostic neurology testing business because of regulatory and reimbursement challenges and shifted its focus to its medicinal cannabis genetics operation. The Courtagen Life Sciences entity is generally characterized as closed/defunct rather than an acquired company.
