Company intelligence / Profile preview
CRC Health Group was a U.S. behavioral healthcare services company focused on addiction treatment, mental health services, therapeutic education, eating disorder care, and related behavioral health programs. The company operated a large national network of residential treatment centers, outpatient clinics, opioid treatment programs, therapeutic schools, and wilderness programs rather than a traditional drug-development pipeline. Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Cupertino, California, CRC grew through acquisitions and became one of the largest specialized behavioral health providers in the United States. In late 2014, Acadia Healthcare announced an agreement to acquire CRC Health Group, and the transaction was completed in 2015 for approximately $1.2 billion. CRC therefore should be viewed as a historical healthcare services company rather than an active standalone biotech or pharmaceutical developer.
