Company intelligence / Profile preview
Credant Technologies was a leading provider of endpoint data protection and encryption software solutions. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Addison, Texas, the company developed the Credant Mobile Guardian platform, which provided comprehensive security for data at rest across various devices, including laptops, smartphones, and external storage. While not a life sciences company itself, Credant was a significant player in the healthcare vertical, providing the encryption and management tools necessary for organizations to maintain HIPAA compliance and protect sensitive patient data. The company's technology was designed to be transparent to end-users while giving IT administrators centralized control over security policies. In December 2012, Credant was acquired by Dell to be integrated into its Dell Data Protection (DDP) suite.
