CriteriaCaixa is a Spanish investment holding company that manages the business assets of the "la Caixa" Foundation. Its role is to preserve and grow the foundation's assets and generate dividends that fund social programmes, research, scholarships, and cultural initiatives. The company invests across sectors such as banking, energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, industry, and real estate rather than operating as a drug developer or healthcare services company. Although it has exposure to life sciences through affiliated investment activity such as Caixa Capital Risc and Criteria Bio Ventures, CriteriaCaixa itself is not a biotech, pharma, or healthcare operating company. It is best understood as the foundation's strategic investment arm and one of Spain's leading investment holdings.
