Cronin

Cronin Group was a biotechnology and technology company focused on the digitization of chemical synthesis and drug discovery. Founded by Professor Lee Cronin of the University of Glasgow, the company developed the "Digital Chemist" platform, which aimed to automate the discovery and manufacture of complex molecules. The core technology, often referred to as the "Chemputer," sought to transform chemical recipes into digital code that could be executed by robotic systems. In 2018, the company acquired DeepMatter and subsequently changed its name to DeepMatter Group PLC to focus on its cloud-based chemical data platform. While the original Cronin Group entity evolved, its foundational work in autonomous chemistry continues to influence the digital transformation of the life sciences industry.
