Crookes Healthcare was a prominent British pharmaceutical company primarily known for its extensive portfolio of over-the-counter (OTC) consumer healthcare products. Originally established as Crookes Laboratories, the company became a subsidiary of Boots (The Boots Company) and was responsible for marketing and distributing household brands such as Nurofen, Strepsils, and Optrex. The company played a significant role in the commercialization of ibuprofen following its discovery by Boots researchers. In 2006, Crookes Healthcare was integrated into Reckitt Benckiser following the latter's acquisition of Boots Healthcare International.
