Company intelligence / Profile preview
CHAP (Crop Health and Protection) was one of the UK's four Agri-Tech Innovation Centres funded by Innovate UK. Headquartered in York, it acted as a bridge between academia, industry, and government to accelerate the development and adoption of innovative crop solutions. The centre focused on soil health, crop protection, and precision agriculture, offering state-of-the-art facilities for biopesticide development, high-throughput screening, and digital phenotyping. CHAP collaborated with major industry players like Bayer and Unilever, as well as leading research institutions, to address global food security challenges. In April 2024, CHAP merged with CIEL and Agri-EPI Centre to form the UK Agri-Tech Centre, consolidating the UK's agricultural innovation capabilities into a single entity.
