Company intelligence / Profile preview
Cryptome Pharmaceuticals was an Australian biotechnology company that pioneered the discovery of "cryptomes"—bioactive peptide fragments hidden within larger, naturally occurring proteins. Using its proprietary Cryptomics proteomics platform, the company identified novel therapeutic candidates, known as cryptides or crypteins, for a range of conditions including thrombosis, inflammation, and cancer. The company's lead programs included CR001, an anti-coagulant, and CR014, an anti-inflammatory agent targeting vascular leak. Cryptome's technology focused on high-throughput screening to identify these cryptic peptides which possess biological activities distinct from their parent proteins. In 2006, Cryptome merged with the diagnostics firm HealthLinx, subsequently operating under the name HealthLinx Limited.
