CSC Joint Venture was a prominent entity primarily known for its significant role in the United Kingdom's National Programme for IT (NPfIT) within the National Health Service (NHS). As a joint venture led by the Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), the entity was responsible for delivering and maintaining electronic patient record systems and other critical healthcare IT infrastructure across various regions in England. The venture focused on digitizing healthcare records and improving clinical data accessibility through the implementation of the Lorenzo software system. While the broader NPfIT faced substantial challenges and was eventually dismantled, CSC continued to provide localized IT services and support to numerous NHS trusts. The company's healthcare operations were later integrated into DXC Technology following the merger of CSC with the Enterprise Services business of Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
