During the late 1990s and 2000s, the company was one of the most active global investors in biotechnology, providing early-stage funding to numerous high-profile firms including Dendreon, Rigel Pharmaceuticals, and Millennium Pharmaceuticals. While its core business was rooted in IT services and software, its strategic focus on the 'bio-IT' convergence made it a key financier for the genomic revolution.
