Curaxys was a Spanish biotechnology company focused on the development and manufacturing of high-quality biosimilar medicines. The company utilized its proprietary Curaxys Expression System (CES), a platform based on the yeast Pichia pastoris, designed to produce complex recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies more cost-effectively than traditional mammalian cell lines. Their pipeline targeted major therapeutic areas including endocrinology and oncology, with biosimilar versions of insulin, adalimumab, and trastuzumab in development. Curaxys also offered contract manufacturing services, leveraging its specialized bioproduction facilities in Andalusia.
