Overview
CureVac's COVID-19 vaccine candidate (CVnCoV) showed inadequate results in Phase III trials with only 47% efficacy in 2021. The company abandoned further development of CVnCoV and shifted focus to collaborating with GSK to develop improved mRNA vaccine technology. In 2024, they began Phase I/II clinical trials for an H5N1 avian influenza vaccine candidate.
