Curitek Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of products for the hospital and pediatric specialty markets. The company is most notable for developing Cuvposa (glycopyrrolate) oral solution, which in 2010 became the first FDA-approved treatment for chronic severe drooling (sialorrhea) in pediatric patients with neurologic conditions such as cerebral palsy. Following the successful approval and launch of Cuvposa, Curitek's assets and rights were acquired by Shionogi in 2011 to strengthen their US specialty portfolio. The company's strategy centered on addressing unmet medical needs in niche therapeutic areas through the regulatory pathway for orphan and specialty drugs.
