Cynapsus Therapeutics was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development of a sublingual thin-film formulation of apomorphine for the treatment of "off" episodes in Parkinson's disease. The company's lead candidate, APL-130277, was designed to provide a fast-acting, easy-to-administer alternative to traditional injectable apomorphine. In 2016, the company was acquired by Sunovion Pharmaceuticals for approximately $624 million. The lead product was eventually approved by the FDA in 2020 and is marketed under the brand name Kynmobi.
