CytoLogix Corporation was a medical technology company specializing in the development and manufacture of automated slide staining systems for the pathology and histology markets. The company's flagship product, the Artisan Staining System, automated the complex process of special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC), improving laboratory efficiency and diagnostic consistency. Founded in 1997 and based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, CytoLogix focused on providing high-quality reagents and instrumentation for cancer diagnostics. In 2004, the company was acquired by Dako (then DakoCytomation), a leader in cancer diagnostics, to strengthen its portfolio of automated staining solutions. The Artisan technology remains a key component of the pathology solutions now offered by Agilent Technologies.
