CyVera

CyVera was a biotechnology company that developed digital microbead technology for high-throughput multiplexing in genomics and proteomics. Its flagship VeraCode technology utilized micro-fabricated beads with unique digital holographic codes to allow for the simultaneous detection of many biological targets. The company was acquired by Illumina in 2005 for approximately $17.5 million in stock. This technology was subsequently integrated into Illumina's BeadXpress system, enhancing their capabilities in low-to-mid-plex assays. CyVera's innovations focused on providing high sensitivity and specificity for clinical diagnostics and pharmaceutical research applications.
