Company intelligence / Profile preview
Asubio Pharma, formerly known as Daiichi Asubio Pharma, was a research-driven pharmaceutical company based in Kobe, Japan, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daiichi Sankyo. The company was established following the acquisition of Suntory's pharmaceutical business by Daiichi Pharmaceutical and later evolved through the Daiichi Sankyo merger. Asubio specialized in the discovery of innovative therapeutics for cardiovascular diseases, neuroscience, and regenerative medicine, with a strong emphasis on peptide chemistry and G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) targeting. Its research contributed significantly to the development of natriuretic peptide treatments and novel candidates for spinal cord injury. In April 2018, the company was fully absorbed into Daiichi Sankyo to consolidate and streamline the parent group's global drug discovery operations.
