Daiichi Pure Chemicals was a prominent Japanese manufacturer of diagnostic reagents and clinical laboratory equipment, originally established as a subsidiary of Daiichi Pharmaceutical. The company specialized in clinical chemistry, immunodiagnostics, and the production of radioisotopes for medical use, becoming a leader in the Japanese diagnostics market. In 2006, Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. acquired the company for approximately 65 billion yen to expand its life sciences business. Following the acquisition, Daiichi Pure Chemicals merged with Mitsubishi Kagaku Iatron in 2008 to form Sekisui Medical Co., Ltd. Today, the company's legacy continues through Sekisui Medical's extensive portfolio of diagnostic products and drug development support services.
