Gefion is Denmark’s national flagship AI supercomputer designed to accelerate large-scale innovation in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare data analysis and other fields. It provides exascale computing power—powered by 1,528 NVIDIA H100 GPUs—to enable advanced applications such as generative molecular design (e.g., macrocycles), protein engineering/modeling for drug discovery pipelines at leading pharma companies like Novo Nordisk and Lundbeck. Early results include faster candidate generation in oral macrocycle development at Orbis Medicines and accelerated target identification at Lundbeck. The system is also used for academic biomedical research.
