Danubia Pharma

Danubia Pharma was a Hungarian pharmaceutical wholesale and distribution company that became widely known in 2021 for acting as an intermediary in Hungary’s purchase of 5 million doses of Sinopharm’s COVID-19 vaccine from China. The deal was controversial due to its high price and questions about transparency and efficacy data. The company had minimal prior business activity before this major contract, with only three employees at the time and limited previous revenue. It was acquired by Syntonite Med Zrt., which itself had been founded just days before acquiring Danubia Pharma. As of recent records, it has been deleted from the Hungarian company register.
