Datamedic was a U.S. healthcare information technology company that developed integrated computer-based patient record, medical records, and physician practice management systems for healthcare providers. Its products were used in private practices, physician practice management organizations, and hospital network settings to support point-of-care data capture, clinical documentation, and practice profitability. The company appears to have had particular strength in specialty practices including ophthalmology and oncology. Datamedic was founded in 1972, headquartered in Hauppauge, New York, raised venture financing, and was acquired by InfoCure in November 1999.
