Daughters of Charity National Health System

Daughters of Charity National Health System (DCNHS) was a major non-profit Catholic healthcare organization in the United States. Founded in 1986, the system was established to unify the various hospitals and healthcare ministries operated by the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent de Paul. The organization was dedicated to providing a wide range of acute care and community health services, with a core mission focused on serving the poor and vulnerable. In 1999, DCNHS merged with the Sisters of St. Joseph Health System to form Ascension Health, which has grown to become one of the largest non-profit and Catholic health systems in the world.
