Dean Witter Reynolds was a prominent American stock brokerage and investment banking firm founded in 1924 by Dean G. Witter. Headquartered in New York City, the firm grew to become one of the largest retail brokerage operations in the United States. In 1985, the company launched the Discover Card, which became a significant player in the consumer credit industry.
