Overview

Decibel Therapeutics developed a pipeline of transformative treatments for hearing and balance disorders using proprietary gene therapy platforms. Its lead candidate DB‑OTO targets congenital otoferlin-related hearing loss and entered Phase I/II trials by late 2023. Early results from the Chord study showed that out of twelve children treated with the investigational gene therapy for genetic hearing loss, ten showed improvements in their condition.[8] The company was acquired by Regeneron Pharmaceuticals to strengthen its genetic medicines portfolio focused on rare forms of congenital and monogenic hearing loss.
