DELEX Therapeutics

Delex Therapeutics was a Canadian clinical-stage biotechnology company specializing in the development of inhaled drug delivery systems for pain management. The company's core technology, the AeroDose inhaler, was designed to provide non-invasive, rapid-onset delivery of medications traditionally administered intravenously. Its lead product candidate, AeroLEF, was a proprietary formulation of fentanyl intended for the treatment of moderate to severe acute pain, including cancer-related breakthrough pain. In 2005, Delex Therapeutics was acquired by YM BioSciences, which sought to integrate AeroLEF into its oncology-focused portfolio. Following the acquisition, the program advanced through Phase 2 clinical trials before YM BioSciences itself was acquired by Gilead Sciences in 2013.
