Denver Zoo

Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance (DZCA), formerly known as the Denver Zoo, is a premier non-profit zoological and conservation organization based in Denver, Colorado. Founded in 1896, the institution operates an 80-acre urban campus and the 570-acre Lembke Family Preserve, providing care for over 2,500 animals across 450 species. DZCA is a leader in the life sciences through its advanced veterinary medicine programs, featuring the state-of-the-art Helen and Arthur E. Johnson Animal Hospital and a specialized veterinary pathology department. The organization is deeply involved in global wildlife conservation, managing over 600 projects in 62 countries and participating in critical breeding and reintroduction efforts for endangered species. As an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), DZCA integrates research, education, and high-standard animal welfare to inspire community action for wildlife preservation.
