Dermick Laboratories

Dermik Laboratories was a prominent specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to the development and commercialization of therapeutic and aesthetic dermatology products. Founded in 1947, the company established a strong presence in the medical dermatology market with a portfolio addressing conditions such as acne, rosacea, and actinic keratosis. Its most notable products include BenzaClin for acne treatment and Sculptra, a leading injectable for facial volumization and wrinkle correction. Over its history, Dermik operated as a subsidiary of major pharmaceutical firms including Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, Aventis, and Sanofi. In 2011, Sanofi divested the Dermik business to Valeant Pharmaceuticals (now Bausch Health) for approximately $425 million, leading to its integration into Bausch Health's dermatology division.
