Detroit Medical Center (DMC) is an active and nationally recognized for-profit alliance of hospitals in metropolitan Detroit. It provides comprehensive medical services including cardiovascular health, women’s services, neurosciences, stroke treatment, orthopedics, pediatrics, rehabilitation, organ transplant and more. DMC has over 2,000 licensed beds and 3,000 affiliated physicians. It serves as the largest healthcare provider in southeast Michigan and maintains strong academic affiliations with Wayne State University School of Medicine and Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine[1][3][8].
The DMC was acquired by Vanguard Health Systems in December 2010; Vanguard was subsequently acquired by Tenet Healthcare in October 2013[1]. The system remains fully accredited by the Joint Commission.

Its hospitals include Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Detroit Receiving Hospital, Harper University Hospital/Hutzel Women’s Hospital complex, Heart Hospital/Cardiovascular Institute at DMC Heart Hospital; Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital; Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan; Sinai-Grace Hospital[3][10].
The DMC also operates the DMC Medical Group—a network of primary/specialty care providers with over 250 clinicians at more than thirty locations[6].
