Detroit Wayne County Health Authority

Authority Health, formally known as the Detroit Wayne County Health Authority, is a public body corporate created to strengthen the health safety net in Detroit and Wayne County, Michigan. The organization focuses on expanding access to primary care, managing one of the nation's largest community-based Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs, and providing health insurance enrollment assistance. Through its population health initiatives, Authority Health addresses social determinants of health and coordinates care for underserved populations. It operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established through an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Detroit, Wayne County, and the State of Michigan.
