Dextera Surgical

Dextera Surgical, formerly known as Cardica, was a medical device company that designed and manufactured proprietary stapling devices for minimally invasive surgical procedures. The company's flagship product, the MicroCutter 5/80, was the world's smallest stapler and cutter, designed to provide greater access and maneuverability in tight surgical spaces such as thoracic and gastrointestinal procedures. Dextera also developed automated anastomosis systems for coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. Following financial difficulties, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2017 and its assets were subsequently acquired.
