DiabTec was a German biotechnology company focused on developing curative therapies for Type 1 Diabetes through immune tolerance induction. The company's lead program, DT-001, was an antigen-specific immunotherapy designed to prevent the autoimmune destruction of insulin-producing beta cells. By retraining the immune system to recognize self-antigens without systemic immunosuppression, DiabTec aimed to preserve endogenous insulin production in newly diagnosed patients. The company's technology was based on research from the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. DiabTec was headquartered in Ludwigsfelde and received backing from investors such as High-Tech Gründerfonds before its dissolution.
