Company intelligence / Profile preview
Diametrics Medical was a medical technology company specializing in point-of-care diagnostic systems for critical care environments. The company's flagship product, the IRMA (Immediate Response Mobile Analysis) Blood Analysis System, provided rapid, bedside testing for blood gases, electrolytes, and metabolites using disposable sensor cartridges. Diametrics also developed the Paratrend and Neotrend systems for continuous intra-arterial blood gas monitoring in intensive care settings. Despite establishing a significant presence in the diagnostics market, the company faced financial challenges and sold its core IRMA assets to International Technidyne Corporation (ITC) in 2003. The technology eventually became part of the broader point-of-care portfolios of subsequent acquirers in the medical device industry.
