Diasome Pharmaceuticals develops hepatocyte-directed vesicle (HDV) technology to improve the efficacy and safety of insulin therapy by targeting insulin directly to the liver. Their lead program—injectable HDV-insulin—has shown positive results in Phase II trials for type 1 diabetes, demonstrating improved glycemic control and reduced hypoglycemia when added to mealtime insulins. The company’s approach aims to restore more physiologic glucose regulation by mimicking natural hepatic insulin action. Over ~350 human exposures have demonstrated a strong safety profile with both injectable and oral dosing forms. The OPTI clinical trial series supports continued development toward late-stage studies.[6]
