Company intelligence / Profile preview
RMF Dictagene SA was a Swiss biotechnology company founded in 1991 by scientists Christophe Reymond and Nicolas Fasel, alongside financial specialist Bruno Macherel. Based in Epalinges and Lausanne, Switzerland, the company specialized in the development and GMP manufacturing of chemically synthesized proteins and long synthetic peptides (LSPs). Its primary therapeutic focus was on developing vaccine candidates for malaria, notably the pre-erythrocytic stage vaccine candidate PfCS102 (LSP PfCS102) and the blood-stage antigen MSP3-LSP, both of which reached Phase 1 clinical trials. Dictagene also developed a proprietary Dictyostelium-based expression vector platform for recombinant protein production. The company went bankrupt and was liquidated in June 2007, leading to the discontinuation of its programs or their transfer to other organizations such as the Institut Pasteur.
