Dinabbot

Dainabot (frequently cited in literature as Dinabbot) was a prominent Japanese pharmaceutical and diagnostic company established in 1962 as a joint venture between Abbott Laboratories and Dainippon Pharmaceutical. The company was a leader in the Japanese market for radioisotopes, clinical diagnostics, and specialized pharmaceuticals, notably introducing Abbott's automated diagnostic systems like the IMx and AxSYM to the region. Key products associated with the entity included the antibiotic Klaricid (clarithromycin) and various radioimmunoassay kits for infectious diseases. In 2003, Abbott Laboratories acquired the remaining 50% stake from its partner, leading to the full integration of the business into Abbott Japan.
