Diplomat Specialty Infusion Group

Diplomat Specialty Infusion Group was the infusion-services division and operating brand created by Diplomat Pharmacy to unify its specialty infusion businesses under one name. The business provided home and alternate-site infusion pharmacy services, with a focus on complex chronic conditions including hemophilia and bleeding disorders, hereditary angioedema, alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, immune globulin therapies, and parenteral and enteral nutrition. It was part of Diplomat Pharmacy’s broader specialty pharmacy platform and operated commercially rather than as a drug-development company. Diplomat Pharmacy agreed to be acquired by OptumRx, part of UnitedHealth Group, in December 2019, and the acquired business was subsequently folded into Optum’s specialty and infusion pharmacy operations. As a result, Diplomat Specialty Infusion is best understood today as a historical operating brand rather than an independent active company.
