DirectTrust

DirectTrust is a non-profit trade alliance founded in April 2012 that serves as an ANSI-accredited standards body, accreditor, and provider of trust services focused on advancing secure electronic health information exchange. It does not develop drugs or therapeutics but instead creates technical standards—most notably the widely adopted "Direct Standard®"—and provides accreditation programs to ensure privacy/security compliance among stakeholders such as HISPs, payers, hospitals, EHR vendors, etc. Its network supports over two million endpoints across hundreds of thousands of organizations nationwide. Its mission centers on building trust through consensus-driven governance and best practices to enable interoperable digital ecosystems within healthcare.
