Disarm Therapeutics

Disarm Therapeutics was a private biotechnology company focused on developing disease-modifying therapies to prevent axonal degeneration in neurological disorders. The company built its approach around inhibition of SARM1, a key driver of programmed axon loss, and advanced preclinical small-molecule programs for peripheral neuropathy and other neurodegenerative diseases. Its scientific foundation came from discoveries made by researchers at Washington University School of Medicine, and the company was backed by Atlas Venture with additional support from Lightstone Ventures and AbbVie Ventures. In October 2020, Eli Lilly agreed to acquire Disarm to expand Lilly's pain and neurodegeneration research efforts. Disarm is therefore best understood as an acquired neurobiotech whose pipeline was still preclinical at the time of acquisition.
