Company intelligence / Profile preview
Disc Motion Technologies was a medical device company founded in 2003 that specialized in motion-preserving spinal implants for the treatment of degenerative disc disease. Based in Boca Raton, Florida, the company developed innovative posterior lumbar-spine joint replacement systems, including the Triumph Lumbar Disc and the True Total Spinal Motion Segment System (TSMS). These technologies were designed to restore physiological motion and provide surgical control of the degenerative spinal cascade through a posterior approach, which was a significant differentiator in the spinal arthroplasty market. In 2009, the company achieved a milestone with the first successful implantation of its Inlign Multi-Level Hybrid System. Following its dissolution in 2009, the company's assets were acquired by Facet Solutions, which was subsequently acquired by Globus Medical in 2011.
