Disc-O-Tech Medical Technologies was an Israeli medical device company that specialized in minimally invasive solutions for orthopedic and spinal surgery. The company was best known for developing the Confidence Bone Cement System, a unique high-viscosity cement used to treat vertebral compression fractures. Additionally, Disc-O-Tech developed the B-Twin Expandable Spacer, a device designed for spinal fusion and the treatment of degenerative disc disease. In late 2006, the company's assets were acquired by Kyphon for approximately $240 million in a multi-stage transaction. Following Kyphon's own acquisition by Medtronic in 2007, Disc-O-Tech's technologies became part of Medtronic's spinal and biologics portfolio. The company's innovations significantly advanced the field of interventional neuroradiology and orthopedic surgery.
