Discus Holdings was a leading manufacturer and provider of professional oral healthcare products, most notably professional tooth whitening systems. Founded in 1989 and headquartered in Culver City, California, the company became a global leader in the dental industry with brands such as Zoom!, BriteSmile, and NiteWhite. In addition to whitening, Discus offered a range of clinical solutions for dental professionals, including products for sensitivity relief, caries prevention, and soft-tissue lasers. The company was acquired by Royal Philips Electronics in 2010 and integrated into the Philips Consumer Lifestyle sector's Health and Wellness business. At the time of its acquisition, Discus employed approximately 400 people and distributed its products in over 100 countries.
