Diversigen

Diversigen was a microbiome research services company that provided metagenomic sequencing, bioinformatics, statistical analysis, and consulting for studies of human, animal, and environmental microbiomes. Founded in 2013 in Houston, Texas by Joseph Petrosino, the company built a business around sample processing, nucleic acid extraction, sequencing workflow optimization, and interpretation of microbiome data for research and translational applications. OraSure Technologies acquired Diversigen in November 2019 and later combined its microbiome services with CoreBiome under the Diversigen name. The business operated as part of OraSure and DNA Genotek’s microbiome offering, with branded workflows such as BenchMark and BoosterShot. OraSure has since announced that it is exiting the microbiome services business and closing the Diversigen division.
