DMetrix

DMetrix was a pioneering medical technology company that specialized in the development of ultra-fast digital pathology systems. Founded as a spin-off from the University of Arizona, the company introduced the first whole-slide imaging scanners powered by proprietary array microscopy technology. This innovation allowed for the simultaneous capture of multiple image tiles, drastically reducing the time required to digitize glass pathology slides compared to conventional methods. Their flagship products, including the DX-40 and DX-80, were designed to improve diagnostic efficiency and enable remote consultation for pathologists. In 2011, DMetrix was acquired by Leica Biosystems, a division of Danaher Corporation, to integrate its high-speed scanning capabilities into Leica's digital pathology suite.
