Overview

Document Sciences Corporation was a global provider of customer communications management (CCM) and document automation software. Its flagship product suite, xPression, enabled organizations to automate the creation and delivery of highly personalized, data-driven communications across multiple digital and print channels. While the company served the healthcare and life sciences sectors by streamlining the generation of complex regulatory documentation, insurance policies, and patient communications, it operated as a technology firm rather than a biotechnology or pharmaceutical entity. Founded in 1991 as a spin-off from Xerox, the company was publicly traded on the NASDAQ until its acquisition by EMC Corporation in 2008 for approximately $85 million. Its assets were later integrated into the Documentum business unit and eventually became part of OpenText.
