Company intelligence / Profile preview
Ayala Pharmaceuticals is a clinical-stage oncology company that focuses on developing targeted therapies for rare and aggressive cancers, specifically those driven by the Notch signaling pathway. The company became publicly traded in 2020 following a reverse merger with DropCar, Inc., an automotive services provider. Ayala's lead product candidates, AL101 and AL102, are potent and selective gamma-secretase inhibitors licensed from Bristol Myers Squibb. While AL102 reached Phase 3 development for desmoid tumors, the company faced significant financial headwinds, leading to a merger with Advaxis in 2023 and a subsequent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in 2024. As part of its restructuring, Ayala sold its lead program, AL102, to SpringWorks Therapeutics.
