Droptics

Droptics was a Swiss medtech startup and EPFL spin-off that developed a point-of-care (PoC) diagnostic platform for Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM). The company's technology integrated microfluidics with high-sensitivity optical sensing to enable the rapid, real-time quantification of drug concentrations in a patient's blood. By providing immediate feedback on drug levels, such as for antibiotics or oncology treatments, the Droptics platform aimed to help clinicians personalize dosages, minimize toxicity, and improve therapeutic efficacy. Although the company showed significant promise in the diagnostic space and received several innovation awards, it entered liquidation in late 2021.
